Daily Scheduled Helicopter Charter

$500 per person, each way

(infants <3 years of age fly free)

Cairns – Mt Mulligan Lodge	2.00pm – check-in 1.15pm
Mt Mulligan Lodge – Cairns	2.40pm – arriving at 3.10pm

On arrival date, book a domestic flight landing into Cairns before 12.45pm
On departure date, book a domestic flight departing Cairns after 5pm

Bespoke Helicopter Charter

If the daily scheduled charter is fully booked on your preferred dates of travel, or if the scheduled timings do not coincide with your itinerary, a bespoke helicopter charter ex Cairns may be arranged at an additional cost:

$1,270 (one way) – two passengers, weight and luggage restrictions apply
$2,800 (one way) – up to six passengers, weight and luggage restrictions apply
Private helicopter charters may also be arranged from other destinations

Private Land Transfer (4WD)

There are also a number of private land transfer options ex Cairns:

Airport/Hotel (Cairns) to Mt Mulligan Lodge – 1 to 4 passengers, $1,055 one way
Airport/Hotel (Cairns) to Mt Mulligan Lodge – 5 to 10 passengers, $1,585 one way
Airport/Hotel (Cairns) to Mt Mulligan Lodge – 11 to 16 passengers, $2,400 one way
Silky Oaks Lodge to Mt Mulligan Lodge – 1 to 4 passengers, $1,800 one way
Other pick-up and drop-off locations will be quoted upon application

Helicopter luggage restrictions

Due to safety requirements and space restrictions on the helicopters, all passengers are restricted to maximum of 15kg baggage allowance in total per person. Your 15kgs includes all handbags, camera bags and luggage, with all baggage weighed at check in. Soft duffle or cabin bags are required as they are able to fit in the helicopter storage compartment (no hard base or suitcases please). Due to space limitations please do not bring one large bag between two guests.
In some instances, the pilot may ask you to re-pack into a supplied soft duffle bag if your luggage is too large. Rest assured, we can securely store any of your excess luggage or hard cases at our hangar for pick up on your return trip. To assist, Mt Mulligan Lodge offers a complimentary laundry service for guests (dry cleaning is not available).
Please be advised that the carriage of excess baggage cannot be guaranteed due to aircraft availability and payload limitations. In special circumstances a private charter may be required at an additional cost. If you have any concerns regarding your baggage please contact us prior to your arrival so we can assist you.
Should a passenger’s body weight have a variance of more than 10% from their initial provided weight at time of booking, Nautilus Aviation Pty Ltd reserve the right to upgrade to a private helicopter charter if required, at an additional cost.
Your helicopter transfers will only be confirmed once your individual weights (kg) are provided. If guest weights are not supplied at time of transfer quote, an upgrade cost for a private charter or larger helicopter may apply.
All charter activity and helicopter transfer pricing is subject to change with 30 days’ notice. All times are indicative only and subject to change without notice.
Children under the age of 3 years fly free however this does not include any luggage allowance. Please enquire further about infant luggage allowances.

Bespoke helicopter charter restrictions:

Requested departure times will be accommodated wherever possible but remain subject to availability at the time of booking & / or amendments to bookings.
Availability is less likely if requested at the same time as daily scheduled helicopter transfer time.
If the daily scheduled helicopter flight is fully booked on your preferred dates of travel, or if the schedule timing does not coincide with your itinerary or domestic flights, a bespoke helicopter charter may be arrange at an additional cost (subject to availability).
Additional luggage may be possible, dependent on the aircraft type and only if travelling via private charter in both directions.

Private land transfer (4WD) additional information:

There can be road closures to Mt Mulligan Lodge during the peak of the wet season from January to March. We recommend that guests book helicopter transfers during this period to avoid any road closures. Due to the challenging nature of the road to Mount Mulligan, past Dimbulah, we also suggest booking a private land transfer unless you are experienced at driving a 4WD vehicle on unsealed roads. We strongly recommend that guests take out travel insurance to cover any unforeseen circumstances or changes. Although all care is taken to make sure your holiday goes seamlessly, we cannot accept responsibility for uncontrolled weather, flight cancellations, personal injury or illness that may inhibit your travel plans.
