Mount Mulligan Station is about 160km by road west of Cairns. Take the Burke Development Road to Dimbulah, 47km west of Mareeba, and turn off onto Stephens Street.

The station is 50km north of Dimbulah and all but the first 6.5km is unsealed.

At 29km is the turn-off to the Tyrconnell Mine (5km) and Kingsborough (7km). The old Thornborough cemetery is on the right just past the intersection.

Access to all these places is recommended 4WD throughout the year.
